Recognizing that the people who are most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change are almost always the people who have contributed the least to its causes, multilateral and unilateral institutions and the private sector are to make a series of announcements to help people avoid the dangers of climate impacts.

A new initiative to increase energy efficiency and dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as well as another to support sustainable climate friendly cooling access for all as global temperatures hit record highs, are to be announced at the UN Climate Action Summit in New York today.

在不采取新政策的情况下，随着时间的推移，气候变化对经济的影响大于空气污染对经济的影响。预计到2060年，全球气候变化造成的经济损失几乎占GDP的3%，空气污染造成的经济损失约占GDP的1%。这两个环境问题造成的损失大部分发生在经济相对脆弱的亚洲和非洲，农业部门遭受的经济损失最大。
