Introduction
In this issue, we invited Inspector Ye Yanfei from the Policy Research Bureau of CBRC to share his thoughts on environmental and social risk management of B&R investment and on challenges facing the development of green finance in. Recommendations for commercial banks to achieve sustainable development through foreign investment and international exchange are also covered.
This issue focuses on policy making and the overall development of “The Belt and Road” Initiative. From the perspective of green and sustainable development, we aim to promote discussion and cooperation among different parties with professional interpretations and analysis in this new stage of “The Belt and Road” Construction.
This publication focuses on the issue of environmental protection in the implementation of “The Belt and Road” Initiative. Through different perspectives from policymakers, enterprise investors, and think tanks and NGOs, we provide suggestions to promote environmental protection in investment destination countries and develop China’s ability of green governance in self-practice and bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
Our second issue focuses on the green and sustainable development of cities and ports along the route and aims to discuss what government, enterprises and civil society can do in this process. The goals of “Transforming Maritime Power” and “Building Ecological Civilization” in “The Belt and Road” Initiative can only be fulfilled through coordination of all parties with exploration of technical solutions. Countries along the road may also benefit from the sharing of best practices.
From the perspective of sustainable development, our publication focuses on issues involving ecological and environmental protection, climate change response, green finance innovation and energy innovation, industrial transformation and governance for global public goods. We also aim to discuss China’s leadership in global green governance.
